STORAGE
PAINTS / VARNISHES / SOLVENTS
FIREPROOF CONTAINERS
THE RULES ON THE BASIS OF WHICH THE STORAGE OF DANGEROUS MATERIALS SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT ARE VERY PRECISE
AND DEVELOPED. KEY ELEMENTS TO BE AWARE OF:
adapting the storage conditions to the recommendations contained in the safety data
sheets of individual substances
clear marking of hazardous substances
informing employees about the presence of hazardous materials, instructing on the
principles of working with them and providing personal protective equipment
ensuring collective protection measures - these are, for example, sump trays to prevent
spreading materials that threaten health or life
creating appropriate storage conditions (including ensuring: proper ventilation of the room,
fi re protection, appropriate storage racks, access control to the warehouse, control of the
storage condition of substances, etc.)

FIRE RESISTANCE
Fire resistance is the ability of a building element to meet specifi ed requirements in a fi re. The measure
of fi re resistance is the time, expressed in minutes, from the start of the fi re to the building element reaching
one of the three limit criteria, the so-called REI.
Fire resistance areas:
R – fi re resistance | E – fi re integrity | I – fi re insulation
